Bradford Declaration

During 2011, SAPF-UK took a leading role in celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the Progressive Writers Association (PWA). It was in London in 1936, the PWA was established and became one the largest progressive literary movements in the world involving thousands of cultural workers throughout India. It was befitting to revive the British arm of the PWA. SAPF-UK issued an important document: ‘Bradford Decleration’ which became the basis for the revival of progressive cultural and literary movement in Britain involving a number of well known South Asian writers from Britain.
